God bless you is a unique original mixed media artwork depicting two deer meeting with their antlers intertwined.
At first glance, the scene may appear to represent a confrontation between two animals. However, the intention behind this work is not simply about conflict or strength.
Instead, I wanted to capture a moment when two lives encounter one another — a moment of recognition, tension, and connection.
Deer have long been associated with nature, life, renewal, and grace. In this work, rather than simply portraying a deer realistically, I explore the feeling and presence of life through layered colors, expressive brushwork, and spray paint.
Greens, soft pinks, beige, yellow, and darker tones overlap throughout the canvas, allowing the figures of the deer to emerge from and disappear into the surrounding colors.
Some areas are deliberately left undefined. The forms are not completely separated from the background, creating a sense that the animals and their environment are part of the same living space.
This approach reflects my interest in abstraction: not simply reproducing what we see, but exploring the essence of a presence through color, form, and layers.
The two deer may suggest different things to different viewers. They might evoke strength, intimacy, tension, tenderness, or even a quiet moment of prayer.
The title “God bless you” carries the feeling of a blessing offered to these two lives as they meet.
A meeting between two lives.
A connection between two beings.
A quiet reminder that we share the same world and the same passage of time.
I hope this painting allows each viewer to discover their own meaning within the layered colors and the relationship between the two deer.
